A Little Something From The Closet

The undead inhabitants of Castle Meatgrinder consist mainly of skeletons from 15mm.co.uk.  These are really sharp figures that their website just doesn't do justice.  You'll want to check out the big versions of these pictures, these smaller icons lose a lot of their character.

Just zombies and skeletons makes the tomb level of Castle Meatgrinder pretty weak sauce, but the leveling rate of Moldvay Basic is pretty slow, so there will be plenty of time to add in mummies, wraiths, and other fun ghastly things later.

The death cult pack of figures from Rap Partha Europe also includes these three zombie looking fellows.  Since the cult in Castle Meatgrinder is dedicated to the dungeongod and not necessarily to any sort of necromancy, it made more sense to me to throw these into the tomb with the above.

  2. Love 'em. Your figures always look way better in person than on the website, and they look darn good on the website.

    1. Thank you and thanks for putting this post up, I was sent here by another wargamer as soon as you posted. Would you mind me blogging about this post?

I know! We put a lot of effort into photography and its really tough to do justice to figures.

  3. Not at all, I know how valuable word of mouth advertising is to boutique outfits like you. That's one of the reasons I started this blog, and why I always try to mention the manufacturers. My motives aren't entirely altruistic - I want you in business so you can keep supporting my lead habit.

    1. I like that, boutique. It is nice to show of your collection and to have people be inspired. I put a lot of effort into finding our miniatures online (I often wonder why others do not). We are twenty years into this and will be many more. Thanks again for the permission. GBS

  4. These are amazing old-school dungeon crawlers that make me think of a Ray Harryhausen movie or maybe "Army of Darkness".

Might want to bump up your image brightness though, they're a bit dim. I just tried Auto Levels in Pixlr and it really improved them.

    1. That's a fair cop. The lighting at my new pad is subpar, and I've been struggling to get decent shots of figures lately. May have to try a radical re-think soon.
